Derbyshire Fell Races
I promote 6 fell races annually in Derbyshire and they are all capable of being run by beginners...especially as in all cases, there are half distance runs, mainly for Juniors under 16 but also for beginners and the not so fit. All are promoted under the auspices of the Fell Runners Association
Year by year, more people seem to take part and enjoy the challenge of fell running, the tremendous friendship and also the scenery

This year, we are going to promote 4 special events for under 8's, under 10's and under 12's in Thorpe (in Dovedale), Kirk Ireton, Parwich and with the final event in association with the annual Bradbourne event.....details later
All events are £3, £1.50 for under 18's and FREE for under 16's to enter and results are available either by e-mail (30p) on the day of the race or by snail mail (50p) posted the next day. However, the three races promoted in Shining Cliff Woods carry a surcharge of £1
Prizes are awarded at most events but only where there are a minimum of 3 runners in a particular age category
All runners should be aware of the potential dangers in fell running, especially in the winter months and when there is a sudden change in weather conditions. It is the runner's responsibility to take adequate precautions and, in line with FRA rules and guidelines, should be prepared to carry appropriate clothing, a whistle and sustinence with them, especially on longer runs
