How to enter

The entry procedure is very simple

All that I need is as follows and in the same order and IN FULL. No exceptions please! Please use BLOCK CAPITALS as not everyone writes legibly and my eyes are not as good as they used to be .

  • NAME & DATE of the race(s)
  • FIRST NAME
  • SURNAME
  • SEX (M or F)
  • AGE
  • DATE of BIRTH in the format dd.mm.yy
  • RUNNING CLUB (or state UNAFFILIATED)
  • MOBILE in the format  000 00 00 00 00
  • HOME PHONE (in case of emergency - flood, snow etc)
  • E-MAIL ADDRESS
  • POSTAL ADDRESS & POSTCODE
  • NOTE: If you are entering the WHOLE of the Tour of the Derwent Valley, the WHOLE of the Tour of Epsom & Ewell or ALL 3 STAGES of the Ronhill Surrey Classic Race please state your T shirt size : S, M, L or XL

Unless you say so, your e-address will be added to my running mailing list but only exclusively for my use and on the understanding that I shall not submit it to others.

These details should be sent to: z2r0u0n8z@yahoo.co.uk with the name of the race in the subject box.

You will then get a confirmation of entry from me (or rejection if the event is FULL) and that will assume that you agree to abide by the rules of the appropriate sports governing body and that you indemnify the organisers, officials, volunteer helpers, sponsors and anyone else involved in the event from claims in respect of your participation. In return, it will indicate that all of those mentioned will act in a responsible way to ensure the safe and smooth running of the event.

You may then be asked to send

A - a 9" x 6" stamped and self addressed envelope ( Oh!!!...and please DO NOT seal the SAE as some people do) with your SURNAME printed in the top left hand corner of the envelope (that you send TO ME and NOT the one you address to yourself)

B -   a cheque payable to D R DENTON to 5 Swinney Lane, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 1 EF - but please DO NOT staple the cheque to anything like an entry form. It is amazing how many runners FORGET to put a stamp on their outer envelope and/or their SAE or do not even enclose a SAE.... No Stamp or no SAE = no acceptance of your entry!! .

Please remember that a FIRST CLASS stamp is all that is required for a 9" x 6" envelope...bigger envelopes cost much more and I now DO NOT collect any from the post office that have penalty charges..often £1.06 or more.

By the way, please do not forget to add £2 for those races organised under ARC Rules (Asociation of Running Clubs) if you are not a member of an affiliated running/athletic club.
