MONDAY 27 DECEMBER 2010 : 12 NOON WITH 215' OF ASCENT
Race HQ : The Queen's Head pub, Chesterfield Road, Belper
There is NO PARKING at the pub - there are narrow roads in the area but the best bet is to use the Council Car Park at the bottom of Chesterfield Road on the corner of Shortlands that is only about a 500m walk away. It will be much safer there
The course is an out and back 5km course with the kilometres marked. There is a slight uphill start, followed by a flat 800m and a downhill. Just before the 2nd kilometre, the road rises again to the turn.
The start, at 12noon, and finish are in the same place about 600m from the Queens Head pub in Crich Lane, Belper. Toilets are available and there is only changing available in the toilets.
Obviously, beer, soft drinks as well as coffee are available after the race. The Queens Head always has a number of guest beers on sale.
The entry fee is £4 in advance or £5 on the day. Do not forget that as this race holds a ARC permit, non affilated runners need to pay the surcharge.
The course record is held by Paul Richardson of Charnwood AC who ran 14.41 in 2004. The womens record is held by Debbie Mason of Tipton Harriers who ran 16.41 in 2005.
