13th Southwell Trail 5km
MONDAY 3 MAY 2010: RACE HQ : NEWCASTLE ARMS, STATION ROAD, SOUTHWELL
This increasingly popular all off road race starts at 7.30pm at the end of the car park adjacent to the pub...a record 106 runners finished the 2009 race
The actual Race HQ will be the back of my car on the car park next to the Newcastle Arms or, if it is raining, in the pub itself where you can have a beer or other drink after the event.
The out-and-back is absolutely FLAT and is a 5km wheel and GPS measured race along a compacted old railway line...all kilometers marked. Results of previous races appear below
Entry fee £3.50 in advance or £4 on the day + £2 unaffiliated fee if not a member of an affiliated athletic club
The car park is quite small but there is some good on-road parking immediately past the car park in a small road leading to an Industrial Estate with immediate access to the start.
By the way, if you are new to visiting Southwell, there is a wonderful Norman Minster in the town (with an excellent tea rooms) and where, on the day, there is a free afternoon organ concert...at 3pm I think.
