2007 MENS 10km
Disappearing along the bank of the Vlatava River, Mick Edwards (in the brown Dark Peak vest) at about half way. The race was run at 9pm for the first time...difficult for taking photos...but atmospheric
David Fiddler from Guildford at about the same spot..and he beat my time from the year before!!!!
2007 HALF MARATHON
Rob Norman of Belper Harriers in the 2007 event
David Stevens smiling for the camera. I actually missed most of the runners where this was taken as there was an awkward barrier to my right and so I marshalled to prevent runners tripping over it. What about an OBE (Other Bu--ers Efforts) Mr Blair????
Nicky Donbavand of Epsom Allsorts almost at the 2km marker
Alan Feeney, the flying fireman from Surrey at about 9.5k in the 2007 race.
2006 MENS 10k & WOMENS 5k
Ashley Sabin at 2km - he went on to finish 17th overall
Dad, Craig Sabin finishing the race as 2nd V45
PaulHarmer of Charnwood AC at the start of the long finishing straight
The first of 3 Epsom Oddballs, Dave Gill
Next came Geoff Kinlen
And then, guess who was last of the trio...but I am the eldest and I have lost some of the girth since then and looking forward to the 2008 event to be held on my 68th birthday....why not join me??
Sheila Coyle of Charnwood AC having a great run to finish 17th woman in the 5km
The group of 4 lovely Loughborough based women runners all of whom seemed to enjoy the weekend.
2006 HALF MARATHON
The sextet from Long Eaton Running Club before the start of the 2006 race.. They looked just as fresh at the finish...but not at Sunday breakfast!!!! Sean, Ian, Clive, Kevin, Pat & Ashok (from L to R)
MIke Bruce (to the right of the cone and appearing very small) on his way to 3rd place in the V55 category. Well done MIke
Our fastest runner- Chris Fletcher of the Burton upon Trent based Hatton Darts Running Club....he doesn't seem to be taking this seriously!!!
Lyla Adwan (with whom I shall a birth date) of the Surrey based Sutton Runners at about 13.5kms, alongside the Vlatava River. IN most cases, runners seem to enjoy the event as well as running hard. As the course is very flat, quite a few PBs have been achieved.
Rob Sharratt of Ilkeston RC hugging the curb ready for the left hand turn on to a bridge over the near flooded river
Looking good at 13.5km is Ian Wallis of Long Eaton RC, aregular runner in my events.
