27th Marathon Windows Tour of Epsom & Ewell

MONDAY 11 to FRIDAY 15 JUNE 2012 : ARC Permit 12/14

This series of 5 races on 5 nights, with accompanying FREE fun runs for children, is once again being supported by the Marathon Window Company of Upper High Street, Epsom (www.marathonwindows.co.uk)

The event just gets more popular each year and more & more friendships develop over the week. For those who have not run in it before, it is unusual in that it includes a time trial on Thursday and the final race is a handicap, based on times recorded in the week, where all of the runners should cross the line together. It didn't work so well this year unfortunately!!!

The entry fee is £18 for the Series in advance or £20 on the day or £4.50 a race in advance or £5 on the day. Part of the entry fee will be donated to our charity, IDEAS (International Development through Education, Art and Sport), where we are raising funds to build a school for poor children in the southern Indian State of Kerala. Donations in addition to your entry fee are always greatly appreciated.

There are FREE fun runs for children under 6, under 9, under 12 and under 15 each evening before the main run....all entrants will receive a medal (presented on the final evening) for just taking part.

WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT THE 2011 MARATHON WINDOWS TOURS of EPSOM & EWELL

  • Thanks for all you do to encourage running David, from us old 'uns to the youngsters. PT

  • Just a quick e-mail to say thanks very much. I really enjoyed the whole event. I’ve never run in a series like this before, so everything was new and exciting. I thought all the races were really well organized, the results were posted promptly and there was a real sense of camaraderie amongst the runners. My favourite moment was you cheering me on after the 1st lap at Nonsuch and knowing my name.

  • I’m already looking forward to improving my performance next year and have told lots of people about the series. DJ

  • Thanks so much for another great week of racing! We loved it! A,R&DF

  • Many thanks for arranging these races. Although I did not complete in all events, I thoroughly enjoyed those I participated in. AW

  • Sue and I would like to thank you for running the event. I think thats my 5th year now. I'm sure if your doing it in 2012 we'll be there MM

  • I just wanted to say thank you ever so much for organising the Tour of Epsom. I really did enjoy it. My fellow colleagues at the Allsorts recommended it to me and I don't regret doing it!  It was a great week which proved to provide some good training! It was also fantastic to chat to other runners whom I often encounter at races but never have the time to speak to them. People like you David are what makes running fun. Thanks again and hope to see you at another of your awesome races too. LG

A shame that I was ill for part of it, but that is life and it was a great week which proved to provide some good training! • Many thanks for a great week David. I particularly enjoyed Friday with it's rather bizarre and surreal happenings. The running HOSP33's and the rather gorgeous girl in the leopard suit. We chatted to the large red dice, the sandwich and the birthday cake - very nice lads. I also really enjoyed the run - it was one of those where everything went right and in the last mile Ramona and I were side by side whizzing past loads of other runners. Wonderful! WB

  • Thanks again for a really good week at the Tour. That was my 3rd full tour and i have really enjoyed all of them. They really are great for meeting new people and mixing with the guys we already know. DP

  • Thanks once again for a great week's running. MB
