How to enter my races

The entry information I require, after entering the RACE CODE, is as follows :

• SURNAME
• FIRST NAME
• AGE
• CLUB ( or state UN if not a member of an affiliated athletics club)
• MOBILE NUMBER
• E-MAIL ADDRESS

You will then get a confirmation of entry from me (or rejection if the event is FULL) and that will assume that you agree to abide by the rules of the appropriate sports governing body and that you indemnify the organisers, officials, volunteer helpers, sponsors and anyone else involved in the event from claims in respect of your participation. In return, it will indicate that all of those mentioned will act in a responsible way to ensure the safe and smooth running of the event..

SUNDAY 12  MAY 2024

Race code : PP2

TIME : 12noon start for junior runs followed at about 12.20pm for the open race

ENTRY FEE : £5 seniors ; £2 16 & 17 year olds ; FREE under 16's. Payment is in cash and on the day please

CAR PARKING : PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN HIGG LANE - NARROW. HOPEFULLY, AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS, WE MAY BE ABLUE TO USE THE FIELD ADJACENT TO THE BEAR IN...TBC

START and FINISH : just inside the woods off Higg Lane,  Alderwasley

COURSE : 2 laps - a straight, flat 700m followed by a descent to the right turn at 1km. A gradual ascent followed by a flat track and a downhill run to cross a small stream and a slight climb to the finishENTRY :

SATURDAY 25 to MONDAY 27 MAY 2024

Three races over 3 days. Run them all or just 1, 2 or 3. Full details will be posted later

RACE 1 : SATURDAY  4ml at 3.30pm 

RACE 2 : SUNDAY 4.2ml at 10.30am - road and trail

RACE 3 : FARNAH GREEN 5.5ml at 10am -  a road loop with 4 left hand turns

Entry fee : WHOLE TOUR : £20 18 & over; £10 under 18's. INDIVIDUAL RACES : £6 / £3

BLUEBELL 2 FELL RACE

THURSDAY 15 AUGUST 2024 at 7pm 

VENUE : BLUEBELL INN, FARNAH GREEN BELPER, DERBYSHIRE DE56 2UP

7.08km/180m : 7pm start

Race code : BB2

TIME : 7pm start

ENTRY FEE : £5 seniors ; £2 16 & 17 year olds ; FREE under 16's. Payment is in cash and on the day please

CAR PARKING : GOOD, ON SITE

START and FINISH : 100m FROM THE PUB

COURSE : a short lap of about 1200m is followed by a longer loop. The start is uphill on the road for 500m followed by an uphill gully and a downhill stretch turning left on the first lap and right on the longer loop to run along the Chevin. Then there is a loop to take you on a downhill gravel track towards a golf course and left through a wooded area and down to turn left for a short uphill road section before returning along the Chevin to the finish.

TANIS' TWO PERSON RELAY

SUNDAY 25 AUGUST 2024 : 11am

VENUE : Peat Pit Woods, Higg Lane, Alderwasley, Derbyshire

Whilst there is NO ENTRY FEE it is expected that each runner male a donation of at least £3 that will be sent, as always, to the STROKE ASSOCIATION. It is payable on the day.

The event is supported by Beta Jetta who generously supply prizes  (mainly beer, wine, soft drinks and sweet)to all runners. The Company is owned by the sons of Tanis, a long standing offical at our events until her untimely passing.

Therefore, pre-entries should be made not later than 22 August 2023 in order that sufficient prizes cab be arranged. The first entry was receive some months ago.

All that is required is  a TEAM NAME, NAME & E-MAIL ADDRESS of the Team Contact.. There will be a few space for ewntries on the day from 10am. Text the details to us on 077 47 77 62 33 please.

The Relay is run over a 1.4km lap of the Woods with each runner doing two laps, but not consecutively....ie, Runner 1 does laps 1 & 3 whilst the 2nd runner does laps 2 & 4. It is suitable for runners and joggers of all ages, club runners, families, work coleagues etc with the emphasis on enjoyment.

BLUEBELL 3 FELL RACE

FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2024 at 6.15pm

VENUE : BLUEBELL INN, FARNAH GREEN BELPER, DERBYSHIRE DE56 2UP

7.08km/180m : 6.15pm start

Race code : BB3

TIME : 6.15pm start

ENTRY FEE : £5 seniors ; £2 16 & 17 year olds ; FREE under 16's. Payment is in cash and on the day please

CAR PARKING : GOOD, ON SITE

START and FINISH : 100m FROM THE PUB

COURSE : a short lap of about 1200m is followed by a longer loop. DERBY MIDWEEK RACES : 2024/25

RACE 1 of 8 - WEDNESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2024

RACE CODE : MID1

TIME : 7pm ONE MILE and 7.20pm 5km

VENUE : ALVASTON & BOULTON CRICKET CLUB, RAYNESWAY, DERBY, DERBYSHIRE DE21 7BB.

ENTRY FEE : £5 for seniors ...£2 for 16 & 17 year olds and FREE for under 16's. Payment is in cash and on the day please

CAR PARKING : GOOD, ON SITE

START : ONE MILE - 150m to the right of the car park entrance. 5KM - 10m to the left pf the car park entrance

FINISH : The finsh of both races is about 70m to the left of the car park entrance and runners MUST run into the funnel

COURSE : ONE MILE - a left hand loop finishing some 150m beyond the starting point. The 5km consists of a large lap and then a smaller lap....kilometres are marked in paint on the footway

CAR PARKING : COUNCIL CAR PARK, Shortlands, Belper….some 600m from the pub….or in side streets

START and FINISH : CRICH LANE…some 500m from the pub

COURSE : An out and back gently undulating most rural lap. Kilometers marked

NEW YEAR'S DAY HANGOVER 4.5ml

WEDNESDAY 1 JANUARY 2025

RACE : NEW YEAR'S DAY 4.5 MILE ROAD RACE

RACE CODE : NY5

TIME : 11am start

VENUE : MALT SHOVEL, WIRKSWORTH MOOR, DERBYSHIRE DE4 4GP

ENTRY FEE : £5 seniors ; £2 16 & 17 year olds ; FREE under 16's. Payment is in cash and on the day please

CAR PARKING : GOOD, ON SITE

START and FINISH : 100m FROM THE PUB

COURSE : A TRIANGULAR LEFT HAND LOOP WITH 2 LEFT HAND TURNS.  The first 1.3 mile is undulating along a narrow country lane. Immediately after the first left hand turn, there is a short steep climb passing a dairy farm. This road is slightly wider and is roughly 1.8 miles long. After the 2nd left hand turn, the route is flat followed by a long downhill stretch to the finish. All miles are marked.
